Is Community Chest of Korea a governmental organization? No. As a welfare organization, Community Chest of Korea is non-governmental organization which was established by special law, Community Chest of Korea Law with national office and 16 local chapters in April 1999. Community Chest of Korea is fundraising and funding specialist organization consisted of board of directors and executive committee that is volunteered by many celebrities such as economic and religious circles, citizen groups and the press.     How different is CCK with other fund-raising organizations? The biggest difference between CCK and other fund-raising organizations is only legally established fundraising and funding organization within country. That is, law enacted not only the operation of CCK but also fund-raising and allocation. It can ensure the public trust and accountability. Most distinctive feature of CCK is not limited to the social welfare activities of special institutions or religious organizations. Rather, CCK supports all types of social welfare agencies and NPOs with complete inclusiveness and impartiality. And CCK is only organization that all the donations could be 100% tax deductible according to the Tax Favors Limitations Law.
